Meg Olson

Licensed Massage Therapist

I grew up in Port Townsend and then went to culinary school in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After graduation with an A.S degree in Culinary Arts, I worked as a private chef on a yacht in the Caribbean for a year. On a visit home I met my husband and we traveled to New Zealand to work and live for 9 months together before returning to the United States, taking a detour through Thailand and India.  We decided to settle in Port Townsend and raise a family. After our daughter Sonia was born, I decided to attend massage school. After graduating from Port Townsend School of Massage in 2012 I opened Port Townsend Massage & Wellness.

My goal for each client is to help them dive into a deep level of relaxation to allow the deeper work of massage to take hold. With various massage styles fused together, I help activate the parasympathetic system and your natural relaxation response. With a slower pace and focused attention, the body unwinds with ease.

Since 2012 I have studied a blend of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi styles using continuous flow massage with stretches, and joint mobility found in Temple Lomi Lomi. As well as Mana Lomi® under the direction of Barbara Heard, in the lineage of Dr. Maka’ala Yates D.C. and Aunty Margaret Machado. The Mana Lomi® technique is based on Hawaiian concepts of working with the mana, the life force energy, of the body, mind, and soul of an individual.

I am a Usui Reiki Master as well as a Karuna Reiki Master. The title master simply means the practitioner can channel master-level energy for the benefit of others.  Reiki is energy healing work using Universal energy.  This type of work is very relaxing and is done fully clothed.

I have also been an Ashiatsu Barefoot massage therapist since 2012. Having earned my certification through DeepFeet bar therapy company. Using an overhead bar to utilize gravity and body weight to give a deep and soothing massage to you using my feet.
